140th Anniversary Friendship Cup
1880 was a memorable year for supporters of local football with the formation of two sides who remain to this very day in senior football, namely ourselves at Lisburn Distillery Football Club and our friends from Moyola Park AFC.
With the COVID pandemic disrupting both clubs hopes to commemorate such remarkable achievements in their 140th anniversary year of 2020 we are delighted to announce that both clubs have agreed, for this season only, to compete for a unique 140th Anniversary Friendship Cup.
The 140th Anniversary Friendship cup will be played for over our two Premier Intermediate League games between the sides this season with the total aggregate goals in those league games deciding the winners. In the event of a tie then the trophy will be shared between the clubs.
The first leg of this unique trophy will take place at New Grosvenor tomorrow (Saturday 11th December) when the sides meet in the Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League with the second leg taking part at Mill Meadow on Saturday 12th February 2022.
