16th Feb 2019 – Tobermore United 4 v Lisburn Distillery 0
This match almost got off to the worst possible start for the Whites as, with only one minute on the clock, a corner for Tobermore was delivered in to the box towards Kyle McVey who miscued his effort however his miss bemused the Distillery defence and it fell out to Aaron Mullan, who caught it on the half volley only to see the ball rattle off the post.
Distillery hit back in the 9th minute of play as a through ball was played in by Daire Rooney to Jonny McCaw, his shot across goal however was well saved by home ‘keeper Lukas Bednarz , the keeper diving at full stretch to prevent the ball from crossing the line.
The deadlock was eventually broken on 18 minutes by Tobermore the ball was controlled on the chest of Peter Duffin, who brought the ball down and turned to face the Distillery goal and played the ball over the top for Gary Keane, who brought it down and picked his spot past Nicholl, to make it one nil.
We didn’t have to wait long until Tobermore made it two, as Keane picked the ball up in the 36th minute, inside his own half, and turned two Distillery players and continued to drive towards the Distillery half running right through the Distillery defence where he picked his spot past Nicholl, to get his second goal of the game.
Keane didn’t have to wait long in to the second half to complete his hat trick, as on 50 minutes Ciaran Curran disposed Distillery defender Timmy Clarke down the right wing, before chopping back inside to lay off Keane, who struck the ball sublimely first time, from outside the box, past a helpless Nicholl.
Tobermore, put the final nail in the coffin in the 80th minute as a ball for Duffin, down the right wing , allowed him to drive towards goal and deliver a ball in to the box for Shay Dunlop, who was unmarked at the back post to tap in.
