“Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield”
This Saturday, 19th September, Lisburn Distillery will take on Shankill United in the annual “Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield” match which will be played at New Grosvenor (kick-off 2.00pm).
At last year’s inaugural event we were delighted to raise £800 for the Northern Ireland Hospice.
This year we are raising funds for the “Bertie McMinn Memorial Bursary” – a bursary set up shortly after Bertie McMinn died in October 2018. The bursary supports local children and the local community through football.
Supporters will be asked to make a minimum donation of £5.00 (concessions £3.00) when entering the ground. There is no charge for under 16s
Distillery, the “Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield“ holders, look forward to the visit of David McAlinden’s side and our friends connected with Shankill United We expect another tight competitive game between the two clubs that Bertie, an Irish League and local footballing legend, was so fully engaged with on the pitch and off it.
In line with all current government legislation, Corona virus (Covid 19) regulations will be in place for this event and we would appreciate if supporters planning to attend the game would take a few moments to read through the attached guidelines before heading to the game.We would encourage anyone who is planning to attend the game to arrive at the ground well in advance of kick off as there will be delays in entering the ground due to the clubs observance of the above Covid procedures.
Elsewhere our seconds are in action vs Crusaders 18s at Seaview, that one having an early kick off of 9:45am
Thanks to everyone who attended the game last Saturday and we look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow #coyw
