Ground Development: Update
At the recent 2017 Shareholders’ AGM, several areas of the club were discussed including the club’s plans to develop our ground at Ballyskeagh, outside Lisburn.
Development of the ground has three key aims:
Installation of an artificial/4G Pitch and Floodlights
Improved Spectator and Supporter Facilities
Development of additional changing/team facilities and clubhouse
The club have already had plans drawn up in the last 24 months to showcase these plans and also submitted these for planning application which we are keen to highlight, that planning application has already been both submitted and approved. However, at present the club (like several other local clubs) are awaiting grand aid/funding being available to apply for which would put these plans into action and result in the ground development being able to begin if funding was awarded.
Development of our facilities at Ballyskeagh are integral to the club’s long term plans including a centralised training and playing surface for our Academy teams, which are vital to the future to the club’s future both on and off the pitch. Given the funding and grant aid that several other clubs have been awarded in recent years, Lisburn Distillery feel we have a strong case for funding and intend to develop an independent business plan to highlight our need and the viability of such funding.
