GWSC Player of the Year
The 2019-20 season may have ended prematurely but The Grosvenor Whites Supporters Club (GWSC) members felt it was still appropriate to recognise the efforts of the players by presenting their end of season awards prior to a recent first team training session.
The winner of the GWSC Young Player of the Year for the second season in a row was goalkeeper Jonah Nicholl, unfortunately Jonah was not present to collect his award in person so his teammate Paul Young collected the trophy on his behalf.
The Player of the Year award was an extremely tight decision but in the end the winner was Timmy Clarke, who also picks up this award for the second time having won it previously in 2017-18.
The GWSC also presented a new trophy this season, The Chairman’s Cup. The winner of this award will be agreed by the present and former Chairmen of the GWSC each year. Given that this season marked the return of the Lisburn Distillery Seconds team, sponsored by the GWSC, it was agreed that the to winner of the first GWSC Chairman’s Cup would be Seconds team Player of the Year, Jack Grattan.
