Match Report – Lisburn Distillery 4 v PSNI 2
Lisburn Distillery 4 vs PSNI 2
3rd Febuary 2018
The PSNI started off the game trying to prove why they are in the Championship, scoring the first goal of the day in the 12th minute as Mark Anderson found himself through one on one with goalkeeper Paddy Saunders and he was able to chip the ball over him and in to the bottom right hand corner of the net.
The PSNI looked like they were going to easily walk home the victors and show why they are a league above the Whites by scoring a second goal just minutes after the first on the 16th minute, this time from Lucas-Adamczyk as a cross ball eluded the Distillery defence allowing him to also go one on one with Saunders before tucking the ball away in to the bottom corner of the net.
However, the Whites didn’t take long to react by getting a goal back against the Championship side on the 32nd minute through Paul Young who headed home from Harris’s cross.
Young came close to getting another one four minutes later as his shot was saved from just outside the six yard box.
However, Nick Beta was able to equal the scores on the 56th minute as he smashed the ball into the back of the net from about five yards out as he was left unmarked in the box following a fine driving run from midfield by the striker.
Distillery soon after took the lead for the first time in the game, this time through substitute Stephen Curley who got in front of his man and on to the end of Mcmurtry’s cross into the box.
Beta sealed the victory for the Whites getting his second goal of the day in stoppage time, in similar fashion to his first of the day as he finished from five yards out.
