Matthew Rooney
Lisburn Distillery are delighted to confirm the return to the club of 29 year old winger Matthew Rooney.
Matt was with the club in the Championship for a short spell back in 2016, and indeed scored on his debut v Bangor, however after only eight games then Premiership side Portadown came knocking and he opted to move to Shamrock Park.
After this former Manchester United academy player Matt moved to play his football in Scotland where he was on the books of Cowdenbeath in 2017 however despite being then offered a contract at Raith Rovers injury was to end his hopes of a career on the mainland.
Matthew returned home last year but opted to take a year out to ensure full recovery from his injury but he is now fit and ready to go again, indeed he was on trial at The Oval however a potential move there did not materialise following the departure of Gary Smyth.
Welcome back to Lisburn Distillery Matthew!
