NI Football Writers Association Awards 2017/18
Lisburn Distillery duo Matthew Ferguson and Mikey Withers have been included in the Premier Intermediate League team of the year in this seasons NI Football Writers Association Awards. The awards will be presented this evening (Monday) at the Crown Plaza hotel in Belfast with the Distillery duo being the only inclusions outside of the top two sides in the division to receive the illustrious presentations.
Ferguson, who has been on fire in front of goal, has also been shortlisted for the Premier Intermediate Player of the year after he was the Whites top scorer this season and he is joined in the nominations by former Distillery frontman Jordan Hughes and highly rated Matty Hughes from Queens.
Mikey Withers, who only returned to the Whites in January, is also included in the Team of the year after putting in some dazzling performances down the wing for the side.
Five players from Champions Dundela including Glentoran legend Jay Magee have been selected as four from Queens have also been selected as they sealed a playoff spit with a 2-1 victory away at Distillery on Tuesday night.
The third-tier team was voted by representatives of the clubs in the Bluefin Sport Premier Intermediate League.
The Players selected for the Team of the year will receive their awards at the NI Football awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Monday evening.
