After several heartfelt dicussions Stephen feels that he wants to give his playng career another season and as we are not in a position to offer him regular football moving forward it was felt to be in the best decisions of everyone that he moves on to pursue those ambitions elsewhere.
On behalf of everyone at Lisburn Distillery we would like to pay a genuine tribute to a man who truly led by example during his two years at the club even when not being selected for the starting eleven.
We wish Stephen well for the future and thank him for his support of the club at all times, don’t be a stranger Stephen.
Stephen asked the club to make the following statement: “I’m genuinely saddened to be leaving Lisburn Distillery. Over the last 2 years its been an absolute pleasure to be captain of such a great club and I’m going to miss everyone involved with the club.
I wanted to stay on and Mac did offer me the chance to do so but i want to play football matches so thats why I’ve decided to move on as I think I still have the ability to play on.
I’m going to miss all the boys big time but id like to thank mac and geordie and the rest of the management team for giving me my chance to play at the club and I would also like to thank the committee and the supporters who made me feel so welcome when I first came and during my time at the club.
I’d like to wish the boys all the best for the coming season and I for one would love to see the boys get promotion and win a trophy.
I’ll try get up for a few games so goodluck to everyone involved at Lisburn Distillery thank yous all..Curley”
