A message from manager Johnny Clapham …
Hello everyone, this is just a short message to wish each and every one of you a Happy New year from myself, my coaching staff and the players..
I also want to use this opportunity to welcome Raymond (Alexander), Glenn (Dorrian) and Andy (Clyde) to the club.
Raymond is so enthusiastic and passionate about his football, listening to his vision on helping the club move forward has really excited me. Along with other projects, we believe our main objective has to be connecting more to the local community and helping our academy grow.
Raymond has been successful in the past with the club, he brings so much experience and knowledge, I have no doubt he will be working very hard at putting his plans in place
When I first heard on Christmas evening of Glenn leaving Linfield, I knew I had to move quick. My timing might not have been great, especially after a defeat in the Steel and sons final, but I just couldn’t settle until I had at least spoken to him and I was genuinely delighted with his positive response.
Glenn will be coming in as our new u20s manager and having worked with the very best in this country at youth level over the past 4/5 years, he also built a reputation as one of the brightest young coaches around. We are absolutely delighted to have Glenn on board, I believe the future of our young players coming through are in great hands.
I also would like to take this opportunity to welcome Andy to Distillery. Since we first started chatting about his potentially joining us as head scout a few weeks back he has already been very busy having recommended several young players who he believes can make a real impact at the our club and certainly if they are of the calibre of the players I have seen first hand then exciting times lie ahead.
There is still a lot of work to be done to revive this club however I genuinely believe that with these three appointments we have made three significant steps in the rebuilding process at the club.
Here’s to a bright future
Johnny
