Four New Signings
On the eve of the new season Lisburn Distillery manager Stephen Hughes has further added to his panel with no fewer than four new additions.
Firstly, we welcome midfielder Aaron Boyd to New Grosvenor. Aaron joins after a brief spell at Bangor and before that was a regular fixture at Crewe United during the past two seasons. The 22 year old turned out in last week’s friendly against Shankill United so some supporters have already had a glimpse of him in action.
Next up is forward Ben Napier, who joins from Larne, where he was a part of the side that won the NIFL U18 league last season and also turned out for the Inver Park sides second string. Ben has already caught the eye in pre-season with a goal shortly after coming off the bench in our friendly against Mossley.
Our third new signing is another attacking player in the shape of Josh Geddis, who has previously played his football with Hillsborough Boys and Downshire YM. Josh has also played in some of our pre-season games and was on the scoresheet against Mossley alongside his new teammate.
And last, but by no means least, we welcome forward Jay Torrens to the club. Jay joins us from Premiership side Ballymena United, where he played U16, U18 and Seconds team football for the Sky Blues. The 19 year old has been training with the Whites during pre-season and we look forward to seeing him in action.
All four players have been registered on time ahead of tomorrow’s opening game against Portavogie Rangers so could be in line to make their debuts then.
In other player news, Josh Stewart (Lisburn Rangers) and Piotr Slawinski (Banbridge Town) have today departed the club. We thank both players for their service and wish them well for the season ahead and beyond.
