A good start at what will be a tough venue for a lot of sides this season so what did Stephen Hatfield make of a first league win at Planters Park last Saturday?
“I am absolutely delighted” said the White’s boss, adding; “I haven’t made any secret of it but Dollingstown in my opinion will be one of the best teams in this league with the attacking threat that they have. They can bring on people like Gary Liggett and Johnny Kernaghan from the bench so it shows their strength in depth. So to have come here and kept a clean sheet against a forward line like that, and right the way through the side they are filled with quality, is something that not many sides will do here this year.
Okay, we weren’t at our very best and it took a moment of luck/brilliance from Kevin (Braniff) to win it for us but that’s why he is here, that’s why we brought him in and long may that continue.”
This weekend the Whites travel to Holm Park and looking ahead to the Armagh City game, Stephen added; “Armagh City is a very good team, Shea Campbell has come in there and given them a bit of energy about the place and brought in some good players.
They will be a tough test on their 3G pitch and are always a hard side to play against in my experience over the years with various clubs and it has always been hard to get result there. But because it is such a short league campaign we need to win as many matches as we can and keep that ticking over week after week.”
Kick-off at Holm Park is 3pm.
