The “Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield”
Lisburn Distillery is once again delighted to announce, that in conjunction with Shankill United, the annual “Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield” match will be played at New Grosvenor Stadium on Saturday 19th September (kick-off 2.00pm).
At last year’s inaugural event we were delighted to raise £800 for the Northern Ireland Hospice.
This year we are raising funds for the “Bertie McMinn Memorial Bursary” – a bursary set up shortly after Bertie McMinn died in October 2018. The bursary supports local children and the local community through football.
Supporters will be asked to make a minimum donation of £5.00 (concessions £3.00) when entering the ground. There is no charge for under 16s
Distillery, the “Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield“ holders, look forward to the visit of David McAlinden’s side and our friends connected with Shankill United – standard Covid-19 guidelines and procedures will be in operation.
We can expect another tight competitive game between the two clubs that Bertie, an Irish League and local footballing legend was so fully engaged with on the pitch and off it.
