Bertie McMinn Stand Announcement
On Saturday, we were pleased to welcome our old friends Shankill United to New Grosvenor for the annual Bertie McMinn Memorial Shield.
Bertie of course had a spell as of manager of both clubs and remains the Whites record appearance holder with 524 appearances and 105 goals across three spells for the club.
Before yesterday’s game, we were able to unveil a new plaque on the stand at New Grosvenor, which has now been renamed The Bertie McMinn Stand ahead of the new season.
A fitting tribute to the man who is widely regarded as being the finest player to have pulled on a Distillery shirt.
We were also pleased to have members of Bertie’s family present for the match and unveiling.
