New Signing – Owen O’Neill

We can confirm the addition of 18 year old Owen O’Neill to our squad.

Owen is a versatile defender who joins on loan from Glentoran for the rest of the season after signing his first professional contract with the East Belfast side earlier this week, having previously made his debut for the Glens as a half time substitute in the final game of the 2023/24 season against Cliftonville.

It’s been a big week for the young player as he also captained the Northern Ireland U18 Schoolboy’s side to victory against Australia on Monday night.

Owen was a member of the U18 Schoolboy’s side that won the Centenary Shield last year, and was named Man of the Match in the final against Wales.

Whites fans have already seen our new signing in action at New Grosvenor as he featured in the pre-season game between the two sides back in August.

Owen could be in line to make his debut in Saturday’s game against Rathfriland Rangers.
