Stephen Hughes
Looking to next season, and the future, Lisburn Distillery Football Club is delighted to confirm that Stephen Hughes has been appointed as our first team manager.
Stephen had been in charge on an interim basis since March, and brings a wealth of experience with him. He managed Ballyclare Comrades in the Championship for three years in total, and Moyola Park in the Premier Intermediate League (two and a half years) before joining The Whites as a first team coach in October 2023. Stephen is currently completing his UEFA “A” licence.
His backroom team will be; Fra Brennan (assistant manager), Billy Black (goalkeeping coach) Kirsty Rea (physio) and Gary Cressey (team attendant). All are currently with the club, we are equally delighted they are continuing in these roles, and wish them all the best for next season in particular.
Lisburn Distillery chairman, Bobby Radcliffe said; “Stephen, Fra, and Kirsty all stayed on to help the club following the departure of Barry Johnston. Performances have been improving in recent weeks, and after talking with Stephen we have been impressed with his approach, and his plans for next season.
With the addition of Billy in recent weeks, and our long-standing first team kitman and attendant Gary Cressey continuing his much-valued role over many years, we now go forward with our new management team in place.”
