Dunville’s Irish Whiskey Player of the Month – December 2025
The fixture list didn’t exactly go to plan in December – four matches became two, and even the first game in the New Year was called off.
Despite that December was an important month in terms of results, two league wins and a feel-good factor returning to the club, so WELL DONE to EVERYONE involved in or with the squads and supporting the team from the sidelines.
It was a tight month in terms of votes, just three points separating the top three, with Callum McComb, Aaron Sharkey and Marcus Thompson all in the frame.
And for the second-time this season, congratulations go to goalkeeper Marcus Thompson who is the Dunville’s Irish Whiskey Player of the Month for December 2025. Marcus won the November award and is the first goalkeeper to win back to back monthly awards since Ethan Carry (August + September 2022).
It was a wintry and very wet night at Thursday night’s training, so Marcus was presented with his award – a bottle of Dunville’s 1808 Blended Irish Whiskey, a modern blend of malt, grain and pot still whiskeys – by Distillery manager Lee Forsythe (left) in the warmth of the dressing room.
Well done Marcus, and hopefully we will get back into competitive action as a club sooner rather than later. With a host of new signings through the door and a full schedule ahead, the popular award is there to be won.
We wish all our good friends at The Echlinville Distillery the best for 2026 and of course we thank owner Shane Braniff and his team for their continued support and generous sponsorship of the monthly awards.
New Echlinville Tour and Tipple dates have been announced for January through to April and you can find out more about these and the entire award-winning product range at Echlinville here .
