“Spirit of The Eighties” – Distillery v Banbridge Town
Our third matchday programme – “The Spirit of the Eighties” – for the 2025-2026 season will be available this Saturday ahead of our league game against Banbridge Town.
Programme editor David Hunter writes; “We had planned five programmes before the end of the year but unfortunately match postponements (the Coagh United, and Ballymacash Rangers games) have put paid to that and work that was already well underway. But I am pleased that we do have our third programme of the season out this weekend and as usual we again have a lot of content packed into our standard A5 8-page full-colour format.
The content is material that you generally will not find on our media outlets, the aim remains the same – an “interesting” read.
It’s Distillery manager Lee Forsythe’s first programme piece and following on from last week’s great result at Rathfriland it’s well worth a read as he settles into his role.
Our “Retro” pictorial goes back to a 2009 Irish Cup game between the sides. Were you there? What do you remember? I am guessing The Town’s defender Seamus Kane remembers it more than most… Club historian Dawson Simpson looks back at a club stalwart from yesteryear, the late Dicky Close, and there will be all our other regular news, snippets, matchday squads etc.
Neil Partridge will be selling the programmes just inside the turnstiles at New Grosvenor, as usual, this Saturday. Remember if you are a “Spirit of the Eighties” regular we are operating a “set-aside” scheme this season which simply means there will a programme set aside for you this season every time we produce one.
In the event you can’t make a match or we have sold out by the time you arrive at the ground, it means you won’t miss out on your programme.
If you want added to the scheme simply email me on ldnetweb@hotmail.co.uk and your programmes will be guaranteed for your over the season ahead – you simply collect them from Neil as usual on matchday or from me at the following game (s) if you can’t make the relevant match.
Thanks again to everyone who supports the club when they buy a programme, and at this stage our fourth programme of the season is planned for the visit of Coagh United on 24th January 2026.”
